The Rice Wagon: Reviews & Ratings
Great food truck just outside Mountain Layers Brewing Co. We ordered the combi with Kalua pork and Hurricane chicken, both were packed with flavor. It came with Hawaiian-style mac salad and rice, which complemented the meal perfectly. Everything tasted fantastic, and it was the perfect pairing while enjoying some local brews from the brewery.
This place is amazing!! Honestly so shocked it came out of a food truck because this is high quality restaurant food right here!! We got the Tuna (holy crap, some of the best I’ve ever had!!) and the Hurricane Chicken (I believe that’s what it was called, SO GOOD!!). We will be back!! We’re thinking about eating at the one in Cherokee tomorrow it was so good.
This place was FANTASTIC. They give you huge portion sizes and the food is amazing. I had their hurricane chicken - it was phenomenal. It comes with two servings of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. They give you a buzzer when you order your food so we went over to Mountain Layers Brewery until our food was ready . This food mixes perfectly with beer.
They don't need my rating, but reviewing anyway. Absolutely delicious. Food took longer to prepare than anticipated, but it was well worth the wait. I got hurricane chicken and my spouse got the tuna. Both were fantastic, very well seasoned and the meat was perfectly cooked.
Delicious Eats! This was a great spot to grab some food. I always get excited seeing vegetarian options that aren't just thrown together as a after thought. The black bean sauce tasted AMAZING and I love that it was paired with rice and mac n cheese (which was also an original recipe that was creamy and smooth!) There's a free parking lot right next to it that overlooks the river. They don't sell drinks here- you'll have to order then go to the tavern to get a table and drink. (It's right next to it) There are 2 outside tables but it was hot so we went into the tavern! Overall: Great service. No wait to order. Food was made fast and came out hot. And most importantly: delicious!
What can I say it's my birthday and while staying in Cherokee we found this place. The owner was fun and seemed to know what hes doing. The food OMG when my wife came back with all the food which BTW looked like we were feeding 5 people instead of just us 2 and I think the owner took notice that maybe we ordered too much or maybe we eat too much? haha. Anyway back to the food we ordered Shoyu Chicken and the Hurricane Chicken Combo, Yellow fin Ahi Tuna, And the Kalbi. I found the food was authentic and very delicious. The flavor profile was on point and nothing was over cooked or under cooked. Tuna was fresh and kept me wanting more. All portions were to our expectations and exceeded. And yeah the MAC Salad was killer. All in all we had a great experience and enjoyed what we ordered. I would recommend this food experience to anyone wanting the best Hawaiian food you can get unless you go to Hawaii however this is much cheaper. :)
Came for the brew pub ended up enjoying the Rice Wagon food even more! We had an amazing meal garlic chicken and katsu, dreamt about the food, and came back a couple days later- it was that good.
Delicious! We come to Cherokee just for this restaurant! We love the kalbi short ribs, shoyu chicken, and the mac salad! Must get a strawberry guava juice too! We ask for double mac salad!
